Born in Sakai, Osaka. In elementary school her mother signed her up for kickboxing — "so if a weirdo shows up, you can punch him and run." Self-defence became a boxing gym to fix her punches, and by her third year of junior high it was boxing only.

She has never fought an amateur bout — only sparring tournaments. In 2019, at eighteen, she passed her pro test; that December at Edion Arena Osaka she lost her debut on points. "I'll use this feeling as a spring — next time I absolutely want to win." The following year at Korakuen Hall she stopped a practising physician-boxer in two rounds. She was a pastry-school student at the time; cooking class during a weight cut was the hardest part.

In 2022 she took a replacement bout five divisions up, won it, then won her first six-rounder. November, Sofia Sakai, at home: a unanimous decision over Norj Guro of the Philippines made her the 4th WBO Asia Pacific women's minimumweight champion. "The best feeling. The belt is heavy." It became a birthday present for her mother, who had given up her own sweets during every weight cut.

The name stitched on her trunks is PRINCESA. In April 2023 she arrived at the press conference for her first defence in a tiara and a dress: "The theme is princess." "Defending is the bare minimum. I want to win and get closer to the world." In May, in Izumi, a clean sweep over a former Japan atomweight champion. Her own score: "eighty out of a hundred."

January 2024, Korakuen Hall: a second defence lost, and the belt with it. "I couldn't fight at my own pace." Two months later, her first fight abroad — ten rounds at the Swiss Grand Hotel in Seoul against Korean physician-boxer Seo Ryeo-gyeong, live on Korean TV. The ring announcer introduced her as "Japan's Little Monster". A draw. "It was away territory… I couldn't solve her properly, so I think it's fair."

In October 2024 she joined Senboku Boxing Gym. Sixteen months after her last fight, in July 2025, she won the Japan minimumweight title in Kobe; she vacated it to get back into the world rankings, and in April 2026 took the WBO Asia Pacific belt back in the same Korakuen ring where she had lost it. "I'd dropped out of the world rankings — it was a start from scratch." "Taking it back in the same place makes me happy."

Ranked #4 in the world by the WBO. "I'm not at world level yet. I just win the fights in front of me, one at a time."
